Salvage
SALVAGE

On 5th October 2011 the container ship MV Rena sailing from Napier to the Port of Tauranga ran aground. The ship hit the Astrolabe Reef 5 km off the Tauranga coast. On 11th October the spill was declared New Zealand's worst ever maritime environmental disaster. From the beginning NZ Marshalling & Stevedoring have been an integral part of the clean-up and salvage of the Rena and its cargo.
